Dell System Detect Root Certificate Vulnerability
Dell computers using the Dell System Detect (DSD) application contain a critical vulnerability. DSD installs a trusted root certificate (DSDTestProvider) that includes a private key. Exploitation of the vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to read all encrypted web browser traffic (HTTPS), successfully impersonate (spoof) any website, or perform other attacks on the affected system.
Users and administrators are encouraged to review Vulnerability Note VU#925497 for more information and guidance on revoking the certificate.
